The European demand in steel is increasing. Austrian steel manufacturer voestalpine expects the worst of the crisis for the steel industry to be over.

“We expect the demand in steel in Europe to increase for the first time next year after three years of decline,” CEO of voestalpine Wolfgang Eder, who is also president of the European steel association Eurofer, told “Süddeutsche Zeitung” (SZ, Monday’s issue). “At least two percent should be achieved,” he added.
