Ukraine Reduces Imports of Gas by 35 Percent

From January to June 2013, Ukraine was able to reduce gas import by more than 35 percent compared to the same period last year, according to Ukrainian Statistics Service.

In the first six month this year Ukraine has imported 10,296bn cubic meters of gas at a price of $ 4.334bn. Yet, most of the Eastern European country’s gas import still originates from Russia.
In June alone, Ukraine was able to reduce its natural gas import to 0.917bn cubic meters at a total price of $ 383,803m which is almost half of the supply of the same month in 2012, as…
