Compared to 2010, the number of Austrian citizens who see themselves affected by the current financial crisis grew by 50%.

The most affected groups are unemployed, low-income earners and sole earners. Besides that, Austrians fear a decreasing living standard. Above all, the working population expects a dramatic increase of age-related poverty. These are the results of a survey issued by ITK (Institute for trend analysis and crisis research). ITK has interviewed 550 persons aged between 15 and 72.
