The chairman of ÖBB´s (Austrian Railways) supervisory board Horst Pöchhacker rejects the idea of integrating ÖBB, Verbund or Asfinag into the publicly held Austrian industrial holding ÖIAG.

After the resignation of CEO Markus Beyrer, the governing parties SPÖ and ÖVP seem to be rather planless regarding ÖIAG´s future. A compromise is not in sight. Both parties still have a fundamentally different strategy for ÖIAG. SPÖ plans to dissolve ÖIAG and to put the three remaining interests to the Ministry of Finance.
