The volume of goods transported on Austrian railways increased by 8.9% in the last year. However, it is still below the level of 2008.

After the slump in 2009, Statistics Austria reports an increase of rail freight transport for the reporting year 2010. A total of 107.7 million tons of cargo was transported on Austria's railway network by all domestic and foreign railway operating companies, which is an increase of 8.9% compared to 2009.
