The Czech President Vaclav Klaus rejects the idea of the head of the EU-Commission José Manuel Barroso.

This week, Barroso presented his idea of a “EU Federation”. The 27 member stets should merge together to a “federation of national states”. “I call for a federation of national states, not for a super state.” Barroso said. Only an even closer cooperation may help the EU to manage the crisis, he said. In the end, a new treaty will be necessary therefore.
