Investigations About Turkish Espionage in Austria

Following the riots of Turkish activists in Vienna, Austria's Interior Minister Nehammer set up a task force that investigates the alleged influence of the Turkish secret service. These allegations have materialized to some extent and were presented at a press conference.

Following the violent riots in Vienna-Favoriten in June of this year, in which Turkish activists attacked a peaceful Kurdish demonstration as well as police officers, intensive investigations were carried out.

"In the course of the demonstration, 207 persons were screened, 27 of whom were known to the police," said Interior Minister Karl Nehammer in a press conference with Integration Minister Susanne Raab and the Director General for Public Security, Franz Ruf.
