Hungary´s government has signed a loan agreement with Russia. Budapest wants to finance the enlargement of the Paks nuclear power plant.

According to the Russian daily Vedomosti, the Hungarian government and the Russian government have agreed on a major credit agreement. State secretary Lázár confirmed that the contract has been signed. The Hungarian Parliament has not ratified the agreement yet. Vedomosti reports that the repayment starts in 2026.
