After the bankruptcy of the Hungarian airline Malev, AUA´s staff fears the same destiny. The holding company, the German Lufthansa does not want to grant further funds for its Austrian subsidiary. Instead, costs have to be cut radically. Lufthansa´s CEO Christoph Franz wants to reduce group expenses by € 1.5bn until 2014. AUA is not excluded at all.
