Austrian Unemployment Shrinks
The unemployment rate (Austrian standard) decreased from 8.9% in January 2010 to 8.5% in January 2011.

The lowest unemployment rate has been recorded in the province of Salzburg (5.3%). Furthermore, Tyrol (5.9%), Vorarlberg (6.1%) and Upper Austria (6.2%) also show unemployment rates below the national average.
