Austrian Tourism: Slight Increase in Overnights

First third of summer season 2011: Rise in overnights by 3.7% in the period May to June. The number of arrivals reached a new record high.

According to Statistics Austria's latest preliminary data, 15.47 million overnights were registered in May and June 2011. Compared to the same period of the previous year, this corresponds to an increase of 3.7%. The overnight stays of resident visitors rose by 1.4% to 5.70 million, those of non-residents by 5.1% to 9.77 million. The total number of overnights was the second highest in…
