In 2013 the Austrian budget deficit came at 1.5 percent of GDP wile public debts increased to 74.5 percent of GDP.

The state households were characterized by a reduction of the budget deficit, according to Statistik Austria, the statistical office. The preliminary data for the business year 2013 show an increase in state revenues by 3.4 percent, which equals € 5.1bn, as well as increased state expenses by 1.2 percent, i. e. € 1.9bn.
