Chancellor Werner Faymann (SPÖ) and Deputy Chancellor Michael Spindelegger (ÖVP) had their first official chancellor’s duel on TV on Monday. However, people waiting for a major dispute had been disppointed.

Both policians used their time to convey their messages to the voters. Spindelegger affirmed his wish to “unleash” the economy by a decrease of incidental wage costs particularly for SMEs while Chancellor Faymann promoted his tax on wealth. While both were striving to separate themselves from one another the years of cooperation were not negated which became evident by them…
